Department of Sports

The Department of Sports is working since the establishment of college i.e. 1954. The Department is responsible to control and conduct various sports and physical activities.

  1. Infrastructure:-

    1. Indoor- An ideal Badminton hall with thick rubber coated playing surface with Table-Tennis and chess facilities are available at Sports Complex.
    2. Outdoor –A Cemented Basket Ball ground with Acrylic backboard and cemented Vollyball playing surface with a small land piece as a ground for other activities like-Kho-Kho, Kabaddi Athletics Cricket etc are available in College.
    3. Gymnasium – A sixteen station weight training machine gym situated in ground floor and other machine related to modern equipment of excercise ie. Treadmill, Cross Trainer, Excercise BIkes, Twister are available in Sports Complex.
  2. Sports Activities:-

    1. College level (Intramural)- The Students are distributed in following four houses for the intramural or inter classes activities.
      1 Rani Durgawati Red Colour
      2 Rani Laxmibai Green Colour
      3 Sarojani Naidu Yellow Colour
      4 Rani Padmini Blue Colour
    2. Inter college (Dist./Division/State/University)- The Department of higher education, Govt. of M.P. declares the sports calendar in every academic session and accordingly on the basis of inter house competition the college team for the different sports is constiuted for the district level inter collegiate competition and eventually the selected players for different level become eligible to participate in upper level i.e. division/state or inter university.

    1. 2010-11 Mubina Usmani Cross-Country Run Gold Medal - Open State at Bhopal (MP)
    2. 2010-11 Jyoti Singh Taekwondo Represented India in Invitation International Taekwando Championship at Vishakhapattanam (India)
    3. 2014-15 Neeta Kewat Cricket RepresentedAll India U-19 Championship 2014 at Kochi (Kerala)
    4. 2015-16 & 2016-17 Neeta Kewat Cricket Captain – RDVV Jabalpur Women Cricket Team
    5. 2016 - 17 Sarita Patel Chess Best Player On 4th Board in In W/Z Inter University Chess Competition, held at Barktullaah University – Bhopal (MP)
    6. 2017-18 Vaishali Chakrawarti Karate Gold Medal –U-21 South Asian Karate Championship held at Colombo (Srilanka)
    7. 2017-18 & 2018-19 Sanjana Lakhera Hockey Captain- RDVV Jabalpur Hockey Team
    8. 2006-07 Jagrati Patel karate- 01 Gold, 01 Silver, 01 Bronze national karate competition.
    9. 2018-19 Jigyasa Shayalwar Chess Best Player On 1st Board in State Level Competition,Captain- RDVV Jabalpur Chess Team

      Other Facilities and Tasks -

  1. Judo-karate – As per the instructions of Higher Education Department of MP Government for personality development, the training camps of Judo-Karate are scheduled in every academic session.
  2. Yoga – As per the expectation of Higher Education on the occasion of Great Sent Shri Vivekanand’s Birthday Jan 12 every year the “SAMUHIK SOORYA NAMASKAR & PRANAYAM” Performed/ Demonstrated every year by the students Under the supervision of Expert.
  3. Annual Sports and Prize Distribution – A formal Annual Sports And Prize Distribution Programme conducted every year including activities, based on natural abilities to Promote/ Motivate students to involve them with Physical Activities were The Winner/Runner/ Position Holders/ participants of Inter House, Dist, Division, State, University Level honoured by Certificates And Prizes through invited guests in front of Staff And Students.
